We were contracted by Creative Event Productions to help them out with the video shoot for Ben Folds. This video is to air on the Ovation Network as a concert series sponsored by Bone Fish Grill. The shoot was actually conducted at the restaurant which had been transformed in the matter of hours into a concert venue. While we did not do the camera work, set design or lighting for the camera, we provided lighting for the set pieces and “concert” lighting. Together with Creative Event Productions we provided PAR38’s ETC dimming, Colorblasts and various other hard items. We not only did that stuff, but we actually ran the light shows during taping.

We were contracted to provide lighting for the various tents at a clients house for their daughters wedding. In the reception tent we provided 40 feet of truss and loaded it up with OptiPAR's and Leko's to illuminate the various food tables, bars, and other decorative elements. To give the dance floor some action, we hung 4 moving lights, 2 Atomic 3000's and at the dance floor, trackpod’s. We lit the marquee tents with pink down light accents that led the guests from the main entrance to the reception tent and on to the backyard where another reception tent was, and the ceremony tent. In the reception tent which was erected over the pool, we placed lighting around the room to accent the various things surrounding the pool. To give it a little more punch, we placed C-Splash LED fixtures in the pool to light the tent top. Behind the pool tent was the ceremony tent which we lit the altar with pink accents. We would like to thank everyone at Distinctive Event Rentals for the amazing tents and support, Perfect Party Connections, Catering Concepts and the valet guy who put my keys in the front seat before they left for the evening!

What a show! PMR was contracted to provide the lighting and presentation for this very special event. Thanks to Pearl Taylor and her excellent planning and design skills, this event was a pleasure to work on. We provided LED lighting (Colorblast's) to light the spandex structures which were hung around the room by Isha Foss, who also did the flowers and decorations. We also lit the dance floor with our Trackpod's and to add motion to the room, we used Genie Super Towers and truss to hang our MAC250 Entour’s and some OptiPAR's. Since we were also projecting live video of the dance performances and the entrance, we had to use the OptiPAR's to give the cameras enough light to work with. Digital Dreammakers did the photo montages and other video's, as well as helping us out with a third camera position. Don Monteaux was present making sure the event was well photographed and I have to say that with our lighting in the background, he couldn't go wrong. Shaggy was also there spinning all night. This was an awesome party, and we were very happy to be a part of it.

The Noblemen contacted us to help add a little something extra to their annual Red Hot Valentines Ball. We lit the outside of the Cavalier Hotel on the Hill with OptiPAR's in order to bathe the entrance in red. Then in the main lobby area we lit it with Colorblast's and some LED PAR's. In the other rooms we used OptiPAR's as uplighting. This event looked greeat with the addition of our lighting!

We lit the tent with 4 Martin MAC250 Entour's (A new addition!), the Martin Stagebar54S and 20 OptiPAR's in a tent on 30th street. One the sand. The event was huge and we had a great time lighting the tent!

This Wizard of Oz themed party needed a little something extra, so we brought in two CO2 cannons which were lit with Colorblast 12's to color the jets of CO2. The sight and sound of these cannons added a lot of energy and excitement to the event. We fired these off randomly during cocktail hour and as the guests were entering the ball room. We added 6 Colorblast's to the back wall for good measure.

PMR was called by the Neptune Festival organization to make another ABA event special. We added lights outside of four restaurants and the Westin to signify their participation in the tour. The optiPARs were gelled in the ABAs colors to give it a more personal touch. Inside the Westin ballroom, we put in some Colorblasts with programs to match the colors schemes of the party. We also hung a moving light to the airwall in order to project the ABA logo around the room. The red carpet treatment andbag votives were provided by the expert crew at Perfect Party Connections.

The new Westin Virginia Beach hotel called on the design team of Mike and Janet Bell who designed and threw the party for the grand opening. We delivered the lighting and it looked great. This was the first time we have used the much anticipated “Blast Ball” which the owner, Charlie Pike, designed and had made. This thing was awesome. It covered the entire room in dancing and flashing color. We also had 2 snow machines to cover the crowd at the appropriate moments. Combined with stage lighting and lighting to accent different pieces around the room and the LED lighting we did to flank the stage, the grand opening was a great success!

For a job this big we knew we had to expand our inventory. We purchased 24 OptiPAR’s in order to light all of the scenery and artistic elements for the annual American Bus Association party. With two tents and one of the largest ballrooms in Hampton Roads, we had a lot of work to do. We had 24 channels of dimming for all the PAR’s hung in the ceiling so when the music matched the mood, we were able to involve the entire room by chasing the lighting. It was quite the effect! We then hung 20 feet of truss over the dance floor and had 3 moving lights, 3 Trackpod’s and 2 our favorite toys, Atomc3000 strobes. With uplighting outside the spilled into the windows of the ballroom, and uplighitng on the stage combined with the lighting everywhere else, this was definitely a party to remember!

We were at the Half Moone Cruise Ship Terminal again and once again we dressed up the show with Colorblast's. We even brought out the old LED PAR56's to light the back curtain. With Trackpod's on the dance floor the room was jumping all night. We also placed some Krypton's in the foyer area to highlight the entrance hallway into the main room.

This made the room really nice with the subtle changes of light during the dinner, but when the party kicked into high gear, the Colorblast's did their thing and were a big hit!

This was our first time out to the Cavalier Yacht Club and this certainly won’t be our last! We all had a great time setting up for this party which included mounting two moving lights to the ceiling joists and hanging Colorblast’s in the three treys. After that, we placed LED lighting on the floor around the room. The lit ceiling combined with the lights around the room made for a very colorful and encompassing light-show. In the foyer we used mini ellipsoidals to illuminate the piano as well as a chandelier and martini bar. In the food room, we used another mini ellipsoidal to illuminate a flower arrangement. Other small accents made to the outside of the building and a bar room included PAR56’s on bases.

PMR was called to light spandex structures at the 400th anniversary party thrown by the American Association of Port Authorities. Together with several great companies including Pyramid Studios who did the video production and IMAG, Fidelity Sound Reinforcement who brought the PA, Creative Events who did the stage lighting, and Janet bell who did the design work. The excellent food was provided by Cuisine and Company. This was a great dinner with entertaining special guest, Bruce Hornsby and the Noisemakers. We did a lightning and cannon fire effect using 4 Atomic 3000 strobes for different parts of the video presentation which when concluded, the two center screens moved to reveal the band. The spandex structures were lit by our Colorblast12s and provided by Fandango.

The Renaissance Hotel was the location of one of PMRs most interesting use of lighting. This was the first time we had the opportunity to light large ceiling drapes and we all agreed that Colorblasts were the perfect choice. We hung the aluminum ring we used at the PACC to the airwall track and mounted 16 Colorblasts to it. From the same mount we hung a leko in which we put in a custom gobo with the initials of the groom. The Colorblasts lit the drapes and the entire room perfectly. We were very pleased with the result. To give the dance floor some light, we also put down 3 Trackpods. The lighting at this wedding reception was a huge hit!

We wish our 16th birthday parties were like this! We brought in a lot of equipment to make this party a night to remember. We brought in the Colorblast 12’s to light the perimeter of the room and we made those things work! On the stage we had 4 Coemar moving lights and two Martin Atomic strobes that literally lit up the entire room. A Jem ZR24/7 provided the haze and the CO2 canon’s provided the noise! We set up 4 of those and at the cutting the birthday cake time, we shot our new confetti nozzles from the canons for a huge mess of confetti. This was definitely a party to remember!

Faith Alive Ministries in Deep Creek, Chesapeake performed an ambitious Rock Opera originally created and performed by Christian music superstars. This play or “Rock Opera” is a modern take on the Jesus story asking the question, “What if Jesus was born today?” Set in the various borough’s of New York the performance walks the audience through the life of Jesus with driving rock and rap music. The light show was an integral part in the production as it gave the play the feeling of a rock concert. We brought in 8 Clay Paky Goldenscan 1200 HPE’s and two Coemar ProSpot 250’s, a low fog generator and an Antari hazer. The show was a great success!

Arts Enter in Cape Charles Virginia needed an upgrade to their lighting system. We replaced all of the truss mounted dimmers with Lightronics AR1202 architectural dimmers. This added 36 channels of dimming that controlled the house lighting as well as all of the theatrical lighting. We then installed two 6 foot long pit bars with 4 channels of dimming at each. We replaced the impossible to get to far pipe with a motorized truss system and 6 channels of dimming. For the downstage bar, we used the existing truss, but added 8 channels of dimming, and for the upstage, 6 channels. For the cyc, we used 9 Color Kinetics Colorblast 12's to add saturated color to performances. This was all controlled by a Leprecon LP 1548. We also added remote DMX drops throughout the theater and two wall switches with 8 built in presets for ease of use.

PMR was invited to VIcom's Convergence 2007 show to represent intelligent lighting and design and how it can relate to the family of integrated communications. We lit the outside tent and set up a table. We lit our banner under the table with 4 Color Kinteics coveQL fixtures. This is also the debut of our Meteor Projector. This package allows The image from the projector to pan and tilt around the room.
